Hi, I’m Jeff,
I help everyday Christians understand the Bible and live it out.
The Bible is deep.
Understanding it shouldn’t be reserved for experts.
I started Rethink in 2015 because many Christian resources felt either overly academic or too shallow to be genuinely helpful.
Rethink exists to help everyday Christians understand the beauty and depth of God’s Word and see how it connects to real life. The platforms have changed, but the mission has not.
Living A good story
I’ve been married to Gail since 2013, and we have two boys, Jett and Micah. Somewhere along the way, we settled on a simple vision for our family:
We want to live a good story.
Not necessarily an easy or predictable one, but a story in which God leads and we have the courage to follow.
That conviction has been tested. Planting a church was one of the most meaningful things we’ve done and one of the hardest. When that chapter ended, I seriously considered leaving ministry.
But God made something clear: the ending of one chapter did not mean He was finished writing the story.
Today, I serve as a pastor at Flatirons Community Church. Looking back, I can see how God has used both the rewarding and painful chapters to shape my faith, my family, and the way I teach.
That is enough. You do not need the extra paragraphs about grief, pressure, doubt, failure, hope, and unanswered questions here. They are true, but they slow the section down.

Helping people understand the Bible and live it out
I’ve spent more than fifteen years serving in ministry as a pastor, church planter, teacher, and leader. I also hold a BA in Biblical Studies from Ozark Christian College and an MA in Theology from Regent University.
Today, I teach through writing, video, speaking, and my upcoming book, When Jesus Tells the Story.
More than 10,000 people follow my work on Substack, and more than 27,000 subscribe to my Bible teaching on YouTube. I’m grateful that what began as a small website has grown into a community of people who want to understand Scripture more deeply and live it out faithfully.
My goal is simple: to offer Bible teaching that is clear without being shallow, thoughtful without being unnecessarily complicated, and practical without losing the depth of Scripture.

beyond the bio
- I was born in Massachusetts and moved to Colorado when I was eleven.
- Gail and I have been married since 2013, and we have two boys… One born on Halloween and the other on Christmas. Yes, really.
- We love exploring Colorado as a family. I enjoy almost anything outdoors, but snowboarding and skiing are hard to beat.
- I’m also a lifelong Patriots fan, love ice cream more than any reasonable adult should, and have a competitive streak that Gail finds less charming than I do.
